Jesse Hill, a 35-year-old investment advisor from Nebraska, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud in connection with an attempted $45.65 million fraud scheme targeting financial institutions. Hill, along with an unnamed real estate associate who passed away in 2022, tried to secure loans from at least 19 financial institutions across Nebraska and western Iowa by using false information and fictitious accounts.

The fraudulent activities involved falsely claiming that the unnamed individual was a client of Hill and presenting fake financial data about funds held in investment vehicles. Hill also misrepresented that no other financial institutions held security interests in these fabricated accounts. Throughout this scheme, Hill engaged closely with financial institutions through meetings, phone calls, text messages, and emails to facilitate the loan applications.

Most of the misappropriated funds were funneled into a failed investment venture, a property in Puerto Rico, and an ownership stake in a private plane. Hill’s guilty plea came ahead of his sentencing, scheduled for September, where he faces up to 30 years in prison for his role in this extensive financial fraud scheme.
