2025 is expected to see the approval of several new digital asset ETFs, according to Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas. He anticipates a sequential release of cryptocurrency ETFs, with BTC ETH combos likely being the first, followed by Litecoin and HBAR ETFs. Balchunas shares insights from fellow analyst James Seyffart, suggesting that Litecoin and HBAR ETFs may have better approval prospects than Solana and XRP due to not being targeted as unregistered securities by the U.S. SEC.

The next expected ETFs are BTC and ETH combos from Hashfex, Franklin Templeton, and Bitwise. Solana and XRP ETFs face rejection and legal issues and may need to wait for the new SEC administration. Balchunas notes that the SEC views Litecoin and HBAR as commodities, and new issuer Canary is the sole filer for a Litecoin or HBAR ETF, although investor demand remains uncertain.
