Nearly 130 million Hamster Kombat players were eligible for the HMSTR token airdrop on The Open Network (TON). Players who keep their tokens within the game will earn a bonus in the next in-game season. The feature is similar to staking and is set to begin soon, with a second airdrop promised next summer. The developers of Telegram’s biggest crypto game stated that airdrop recipients who keep their tokens within the game will earn a bonus when the planned second season begins. This move is similar to the approach taken by influential Telegram game Notcoin earlier this year. Notcoin offered players the ability to raise their status level by keeping their tokens in the game, making them eligible for a larger share of future token drops and other benefits. The HMSTR token, launched on September 26, saw skyrocketing user counts in late spring and summer, with more than 300 million users pulled in by the promise of token rewards. The second in-game season of gameplay is set to begin soon, with a second airdrop promised for next summer. In the meantime, Hamster Kombat is holding a short "interlude season," promising benefits for players who amass in-game diamonds.
