The French presidency revealed that Amazon, along with other companies like GSK (GSK) and Accenture (ACN), would unveil investments worth billions as part of the annual "Choose France" event. AWS's investment will focus on increasing cloud infrastructure in the Paris area to support France's generative AI opportunity, and logistics infrastructure in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Frédéric Duval, country manager at Amazon France, stated that these jobs are in addition to the previously announced 2,000 jobs for 2024.
